Based on numerous chart and websites, men completely dominate pay compared to women. To women’s disadvantage, this is not only a national problem, but a global one also. A leading problem in America is the inequality in pay between men and women. In order to alleviate the misfortune of inequality in the workplace, passing a law would be a revolutionary idea. There are multiple steps in how a bill becomes a law. Yet in my words, the steps are getting it written, sending the bill to Congress, and the Congress passing the bill to the leader of the U.S. known as the president. Personally, I believe a man being paid higher than women is as wrong as a man wearing a bikini, or a dog surfing the Atlantic Ocean. I perceive this because women deserve rights despite their differences. They deserve respect and should not be discriminated against.
If I were to construct a law that would change society it would probably be that men and women are treated and paid equally based on their expertise. The first and one of the most critical steps in making a law is writing it; through scanning some laws, I have discovered that they are reasonable and persuasive. Through research, I have realized that our law must be reasonable. Fortunately, our bill has both reasonable and persuasive factors. The reason purpose the bill must be reasonable is because it must be approved by totally different people. This would be hard if the bill was only appealing to one type of people. The bill must be appealing to two types. I believe that our bill is well written and sensible.
The second and probably most complex step is passing the bill through the depths of the U.S. Congress. I find this difficult because a majority of both houses (Democrat and Republican) must approve. The Congress passing the bill has a 50/50 percent chance of being passed for some are as tough as Mrs.Butora’s tests. Congress is like the vice president because their only “boss” is the president so I would assume they make fair decisions that might not be on my bill’s side. Through my research and free time, I have studied the Congress slightly, yet I have learned so many valuable things. I speculate Congress has a “tough side and an “easy side. I certainly hope the Congress will hear our plea.
After the Congress approves a bill, it is sent to the president. The president may not always approve of the law though. The bill is then conveyed back to Congress. If a majority of both houses still approve the document it is made into a law. This act is called an “overriding veto.” The “overriding veto” does not require the president’s signature. Hopefully, our bill will pass through the depths of the Congress and the president will write his name on the paper. If so, the bill will then become a law. This is the third and final step of turning a bill into a law.
I have researched and put a lot of effort into women’s rights. I have done this because in the 1900s, women such as Cady Stanton Blatch sacrificed their time if not their life for rights. Yet to this day, women are discriminated against. I believe this is an act of sinisterness because women need to be treated with respect; to my disappointment, some men could care less. This hurts me and undoubtedly women from America to Sudan. Women deserve rights. To sum it all up, I have tried to fight for women and continue to fight.
